Here it is finally completed.
Thank you to everyone who followed the progress thread and left comments. :)
The progress thread can be found HERE (http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=280600)

This car was painted Tamiya Pure White. The interior is various shades of grey, and carbon fiber.

Most of the CF decals used were included in the kit. I did place CF in the highly visible area where Tamiya didn't provide templates for, such as the door openings, and parts of the engine bay.

I used the Studio27 PE detail kit, and also added Sakatsu turned aluminum exhaust tips.

This was a challenging kit, but turned out a very nice replica.

Heres some pics.

I'm not a exoctic car fan but I have got to say that Enzo is really clean. The white looks great on it.

Amazingly clean! What should we expect, though? Two Enzos in one garage. How lucky! I like the white better, it's a great color! I imagine polishing in all those tight spaces was a pain. Just gorgeous, absofreakinlutely gorgeous. I love it, I'm gonna say it's a whole... 10!

The Revell Enzo looks almost the same size as the Tamiya? Are the wheels the same size? (Sorry, I jsut gotta know!)

Fabulous finish, great work as usual Matt.
You know the more I look at the Enzo, the more it actually looks like Enzo...:screwy:

Thanks all for the replys so far.

The Revell and Tamiya wheels and tires are the exact same diameter.
The Tamiyas are much wider. (2-3mm front and rear).
The Revell wheels are 3 piece (front and rears, with brake rotor/caliper sandwiched in-between).

Hope this helps. :)

Wow, the "post reply" screen actually came up in under 30 seconds!

Killer clean machine! :smokin:

They could remake Miami Vice and drive one like this. The valet will let me park my white F355 next to it. And if I ever finish my white 360CS.

Do your pics depict the best fit of the doors and engine cover? From most pics I've seen of people's various Tamiya Enzos, they don't look like they fit very well...the Revell kits look cleaner when all closed up. W/all the detail, you could build a Revell kit closed up and the identical Tamiya kit all opened up to show the car off the best. :)

That's what I said

If you're going to display an Enzo with the doors and engine hood closed, go w/the Revell kit. It looks better. If you want to look at it all opened up, build a Tamiya.

No problem!

Many here rag on the Revell kit vs. the Tamiya, Matt proves the Revell kit is excellent in it's own right...he's probably the only one here who has built both of them. And they're both excellent.

Wonder how many people will :crying: that he's built two of 'em, neither of them red. :naughty:

The fitment of all the body panels was the most agonizing part of this build. To get good alignment the body pieces have to be checked all along the way, from start to finish.

The decklid hits a couple of pieces inside, and mine is still hitting something. I'm hoping now that the bottom of the deck is painted, that some of the paint will rub off and tell me exactly what's interferring, so I can fix it. I thinned the bottom in a few places to make it fit like it does, which isn't too bad. but when one side is perfect the other side has a bit of a gap. it teeter-totters on something in the middle, I just haven't found it yet.

There should be something built into this kit that helps hold the doors closed. The bottoms want to push away from the monocoque just a hair. I'm have a feeling the thickness of the paint on the door interior and CF decal on the monoque with a future clearcoat play a role in that problem though. The tolerance in this kit is so close, that the thickness of the paint plays a vital role in alignment.
A piece of tape would easily hold them closed tight to display/photo it well.
