Broken subframe mount.

Hello,
My '88 Bonneville (253,000 km) is rust free, except for the mounting points for the two big sub frame mounts, right under the drivers feet.
The sheet metal body structure has rusted away enough that the mounting bolts have nothing to bolt to, and if you jack it up, the sub frame drops about 1/2 inch just in that one spot.
The passenger side mounts are just fine.
Has anyone else had this problem? Is it typical of these cars?
