i have a set or reverse glow guages too.. mine came with a dimmer switch type thing, and it just runs straight to the battery.. it was meant tno stay on all the time, so what i did was just hooked up an in-line switch in the power wire and mounted it down by the ash tray.. that way it doesnt kill my battery, or come on when i dont want..

it sounds like you have an intermittent short to power. Try taking a look at a wiring diagram for your car before you fix the problem. Diagrams are an invaluable tool to diagnosing problems like this.

how exactly did you wire the gauges. i have those same ones and mine are fine. which wire on the headlight switch did you hook up to and such? also, where did you put your ground?

If I recall correctly it was a thick red one, we probed it and it had power in it with the ignition on. The one next to it only had power when headlights were turned on, wish I had gone with that one but my dad told me it was better to use the other one (why I listened i don't know).

As far as the ground, I screwed it down on the metal side of one of the brackets that the dash screwed in to under the steering column. If it wasn't grounded properly it wouldn't come on at all right?

well yes but my theory, assuming im following everything thats been said, is that since you wired them into a constant 12v source they should be on all the time. and the are coming on and off because of a break in the circuit, most commonly at the ground. i would get under there and check it. also, if you feel like pulling off the switch again i think the yellow wire (if memory serves) is the hot wire when the headlights are on...

yeah i think rksport has the flame ones, but i think they are tacky. there are various reverse glow guages you can prolly find 10 thousand different kinds on ebay, along with 20 thousand different types of eurolights :banghead:...
