how do I get the code for the check engine light and is there a web site where I can interpret the code? Thanks for your help.

go to some autoparts got the scaner check code some of the popular code in esteem are oxigen sensor,evap leak.

Check ALL the connectors and vaccum hoses in the engine compartment and make sure that everything is plugged in, if you find something loose plug it back in and then drive the car for a couple of hours, if the engine light doesn't go out undo the cable to the NEG connection on the battery for five minutes, hook it back up and start the car, if the light stays out you are done.

OR

If you cannot find anything physically wrong under the hood you will either need to find someone with an OBD-II scanner (or go buy one (they are around $150) and plug it into the diagnostic port underneath the steering wheel to find out what is wrong. The Suzuki isn't like the old GM cars where you can short two pins together to make the light flash, you actually need the scanner (so I have been told anyway).
