Can you pick me up next year?
Catz,
Do there ever have this down south? This could be a lot of fun. Maybe next year we can give a way a new Mustang to the last person that shows up. You know like a bobie prize. (is that spelled right?)

Sure no problem :grinno:

When I was about 7 or 8 we took a train from Washington state to Atlanta, then we drove to St Pete and lived there for over a year back in 1964....I think...I remember seeing the Beattles when they first appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show...cant remember, was that 63 or 64??? must be the signs of getting old..LOL

Catz,
The reason I asked was people down here just don't get into the car "get together" thing. Even the Tampa GP club shut down. The closet place to race is 50 miles away. Cops down here don't even look at fast cars. I don't think they can catch them.
Big-L,
I know your getting older, Can I have your car?

Sounds like me...the closest club is in Seattle and thats 300 miles there and 300 miles back.We have an 1/8th mile track about an 45 mins away or 1/4 mile track about an 1.5 hours away.Thats why I spend so much time here and at ClubGP :lol2:

Being from Detroit, we had tracks all around you. The only raceing I do down here is zero to what ever the speed limit is. They raised the price of tickets down here. 15 over is like $500.00. And beside, whowants to race on the street?
No clubs. The last show they had was the Mopar show. Now looking at Hemis are alright. But it's like haveing sex with a 18 year old girl. Once your done, there's nothing to talk about. Those guys don't like "six-bangers". I'd like to see a GP get together for all the clubs. But I don't think it would work. Because everyone would want it in their home town. And if you could do it, where would they have some place big enough to put all the cars. Plus they'd run out of hotels.
I think Catz and Big-L should put it together.

first, i'd like to say is nice pics Catz. it looks like a nice gathering and i have to agree with Kid, that there should be a gathering down south. hopefully in may, because i'll be headed down to mertle beach then.
second, i'd like say that pic of Purple Passion was my favorite. the way the aluminum foil was used, man i was blown away. i think this person has a real promising future on FORD's design team.j/k

Yeah, the St. Louis ClubGP is pretty active. Our current calendar includes:

Friday, Oct 1 - Monthly Dinner and Drinks
Saturday, Oct 2 - Mod Day
Sunday, Oct 10 - Charity Car Wash
Saturday Oct 23 - 12th Annual Livingston, IL Road Rallye
November 5 - Monthly Dinner and Drinks

We also have at least a few cars at the drag strip every Tuesday for Test & Tune. We're also constantly going to one person or another's house to help them with a repair or upgrade.

We do a few Mod Days every year too. These are good times......tons of cars, BBQ, and wrenching. I hosted one last November and had approx. 25 cars (GPs, Monte SS, Regal GS). It's a whole day event and we always have a large turn-out. When we attend a mod day hosted by someone on the outskirts of St. Louis we usually do a caravan.....pretty cool to see a dozen or so GTPs rolling down the highway. Ask Catz about the time I walked on by his ass on the highway when we were caravanning to a mod day. Just kidding Katz.

I couldn't go to GPG due to my wife's class reunion in Southern IL.

Cass.
Aren't you guys getting old enough to move down here yet? As I said, Tampa club is gone. Has about 1300 members. But just closed. Seems that no one wants to do anything. When the wife and I made up our minds to come down here to take care of her Mother. I thought, great CARS. Guys from the south love cars. Get down here, and all you find are "rice burners". $6,000.00 cars with loud mufflers.
If you want, I'll talk to the state. Maybe I can get you a tax break. Bring the whole club. OK?

I'll be headed to Florida around Thanksgiving.........assuming it's still there after this crazy hurricane season. I'll see if anyone wants to come along.

Thanks. End of Oct. the hurricane are normally done. But that don't mean anything.
Going north for a wedding in Oct. But wife says we are flying. I think she just doesn't want to spend the time in the car with me.
Thanks again. 20 to 30 cars to start will work.

That's the club I have been talking about. I joined and was told that it's no longer a round.
The GTX will be on the road Monday. That is unless this new hurricane eats it. Still looking for the hood and spoiler for a real good price. But don't want the rims. Don't like the 17" rims. You know I bought this car for the title and the price. If the vin didn't check out, I would more then likely bought it anyhow for the price. But it's alot better with the paper work.
Thanks again for the club. I just have to talk most you you guys into moveing to Florida. We'll start are own club.
