95 mustang gt

I just got my first car. A 95 mustang gt, with a 5 speed, manual windows manual seats. She's a little rough, transmission hopefully just needs a rebuild,I hope to god its not completely shot, exhaust is rusted through and it needs a new panel, the one the GT badge is on, possibly a new wheel well, also needs new headlight cover, how much would it cost to get these things fixed? I got her for 2000, hope I dont have to put over 1000 in to it.

5-speed Rebuilt=$700-$1000
Exhuast=$(depending what it needs)
New front 1/4 Panel?=$100ish
Panel painted=$500(if doen by some 1 well)

If its your baby spend the money. If it brings a grin to your face when you look at her, spend the money. If you get a stiff one when you start it,:evillol: spend the money. Take your time and enjoy you won't be disappointed, I promise.

BTW gtstang correct me if Im wrong, which I prolly am, but I can find rebuild kits for a transmission, for less than 200, me and my old man are doing the work ourselves, and painting it ourselves. I should have included that in my first post.

the more work you can do yourself or have a friend do, the better off you are imo. so far i've done every single bit of work on my car, and the only stuff i wont' do is what i dont' have the skills to do right, like exhaust fitment+welding, and bodywork+paint. motors and drivelines are my bitch =D

i would be screwed without my dad, he knows what hes doing, hes restored a shelby, built a kit car for factory 5 (ac cobra). still has them both. Still has the first car he bought, a 65 fastback. If he can't do it I dont know who in the hell can.

I would love to have a '65 or '66 fastback.
