I went over to my buddy Steve's house. Steve's a big time racing enthusiast, and basically knows how to drive a car really well (Just ask Danno, he'll tell you the same thing). I was rather pissed off at my runs at Speedway (2 passes in 7 hours, and they were both botched runs). Basically I launched the car miserably at the track. We went out to do some testing with it, strictly for legal purposes of course :evillol: Anyways, I did a few 60' times (2 are required, before any other form of acceleration tests are performed). Basically I cut a a 2.1, 22, and then a 1.9 sec. 60'. After feeling like a champ, as I thought that my driving skills had completely diminished from my day at the track, Steve asks me to stop just redlining the motor, and to instead rev it repeatedly. I said sure why not. I tached the car inbetween 5000-5500 rpms repeatedly and then let down a bitching awd burn out. The boost came on strong, and I could tell my baby was powering out of the hole alot stronger. My result was a 1.88 sec. 60'. I then did some 1/4 mile passes with the new driving technique that Steve taught me. We first did a launch on to a lreeway on ramp. My results were as follows (Why couldn't I have run this with my only run against Danno at Speedway?)
60' - 1.88 sec.
1/8 - 8.4 @ 84 mph
1/4 - 13.2 @ 101 mph
2nd run
60' 1.88 sec (Yet again, and i'm stuck here btw)
1/8 - 8.5 @ 83 mph
1/4 - 13.3 at 103.9 mph
I now know how to launch the car and get consistant 1.8 sec. 60' (Make that 1.88 sec. 60' :p ). It made up for the horrible track experience. Hope to run you soon Danno.
