86 Gt

sup sup. Just got my 86 GT back the other day,rebuilt the top end, entire ignition assembly, and most of the cooling system. Just needed to know how to check error codes, and also wanted to find out the ecu location. any help?

Also, need to know if anybody has had this problem.....Cranks, runs, drives fine, till it's gotten warmed up for a bit and driven @ around 55-ish. Then just backfires like a bitch and bogs down and dies. It'll crank right back up, but SES light comes on, and will repeat process again shortly thereafter. :uhoh:

The bog & die problem I have no idea but the ecu is located behind the center console.

What all did you do to the top end?

Thanks. New head gasket, valve job, new lifters and pushrods.

I plan changing my heads, the gaskets and cradle bushings because when I bought my fiero 2 exhaust manifold bolts were broke in one head and I figured I might as well change both heads.
