You have to find the right RPM...that's it.

I believe feathering the clutch means you kind of "ride" the clutch a little, not just dumping it (letting off really fast). Hope I explained that right.
I believe ProShift (yeah uhhh...clever name for the question your asking) means how to launch it fast to get better reaction and '0-'60 times; without spinning the tires.

yeah feathering the clutch is riding the clutch so you just dont spin tire and dont break stuff.
proshift, feather your clutch off the line

If you don't want to spin your wheels when launching in first, find the right rpm, don't dump the clutch, or spend a little money and get a LSD

yeah if your spinning tires so much then your probably launching too high, gotta find that sweet spot where your not spinning tire too much and your not bogging.
and another word to help you with your spinning tires, slicks

better tires will probably do, can't really get a good acc. with all weather tires.

yep I agree, just feather the clutch. It helps alot more than just reving up to 3k and dropping it. Not to mention while they're sitting there trying to get traction, your pulling ahead. many or underdogs have won the race that way

Feathering the clutch too much results in a very bad smell reaking from between your transmission input and flywheel...aka burning the clutch....IMO the worst smelling smell in the automotive world next to realy old engine exaust....of corse dumping the clutch at high RPM's can burn it to a crisp also...your best bet is to fint the right RPM and not dumping the clutch but also not taking 5 seconds to let it out either...

i agree with you all but i think if you have the right set up ( Clutch, Lsd ) you can rev it high and spin the tires and when they hook up boom your gone!!!!.. but that is how you break stuff too !!!
