2000 Silverado cranks but wont start...fuel pump?

I have 2000 Silverado 5.3V8 with about 92000 miles. Everything seemed to be fine until this morning, when i tried to turn it on. The engine would crank as normal but it wouldnt start. Keep on cranking and still, seems like the fuel was not being sent to the injectors. I then noticed that the usual 2-4 second whine from the fuel pump when you turn the ignition was absent. No whine, also the fuel gage did not move at all with the ignition on, the message center showed that i have low fuel, but last night i had a 1/4 of a tank. Also the PRD321 dial does not show that the truck is in parking , nor when i move to neutral or any other gear, the light that usually shows which gear your on does not light up. So it has these three problems , i looked at the manual looks like there is a few fuses that is related to these components IGN 0, IGN C, checked the they seemed to be fine. Any ideas.......thanks for the help in advance.......

yeh the fuel pump went out in mine yesturday. engine turns over just like always but wont fire. could also be that your gauge is broken but the pump itself is more likely the problem...you could check by putting gas in the tank and trying to start it but if you already know there is gas in it then i would skip that cuz you will have to empty the tank to switch the pump.

I agree, If you dont hear the pump, thats your problem. provided that you checked all fuses associated with the fuel system. As for the gear lights, I don't see that as a related problem. If not having the light bothers you, I would suggest ebay or a junk yard and replace your instrument cluster.
