I haven't seen this problem on here yet so i'm goin to explain my problem. First off my interior lights don't work, only the one in the center console and the glove capartment, but theses are not wired to the interior they come on with the car. Now the interior lights don't work because there is no fuse in the fuse box under the back seat. Everytime I put a fuse in there it blows instantly. Now I used a test light to test the other fuses and they were fine. So I decided to check to fuses in the fuse box by the door. All the fuses are in the ,but when i put the test light on some of them it did not light up, which means they are not getting power. Note that this fuse box also has a fuse for the interior lights and thats one of the fuses that didn't light up my test light. I checked the ground under the back seat and hood for shortages and discovered nothing. Can anybody help? Do I need a new fuse box? please help

This is only a guess, but check your ashtray. There might be change in the cigarette lighter(s) and that would be a no no.

I think it's a safe assumption that the fuse under the back seat interrupts the power before it gets to the fusebox in your dash with regards to the interior lights (at least if it's listed back there).

I would think a dedicated electrical shop should be able to find the offending short in no time at all. I don't think it's worth the headache to tinker with that stuff myself. They certainly save $ over regular garages in these sort of troubles.

Same problem for some time.
Noticed it happened after my wife went on a long trip with lots of luggage which went in and out of the trunk frequently.

Annoying as I haven't found the place where the dead short is --but I will look in the trunk area first when time permits.

UPDATE: I decided to figure out the problem and discovered that the wire coming from the fuse box was fried all the way to the back interior light. I rewired it my self and problem solved. Still don't have power to the interior light fuse in the front so the dome lights in the front still don't work. I'm going to do that this weekend
