crankwalk worries

i currently have a 1995 integra GSR, but am looking into a 2g eclipse gsx, (mainly because i saw one in the fast and the furious, yeah man!...right.) because i am attracted to the cheaper cost of upgrades for substantial power gains. i am 17, and as such am only privvy to the "catfish" jobs, aka stocking groceries for 8 bucks an hour, and going to school in the day. anyhow, the point is, i have been reading up on the gsx, and everything i have read has attracted to me to it, save this crankwalk issue. i realize this is an area of debate, but how often does this issue come up, what is the fatality rate of such engines, and do mods increase the chance? sorry to beat a dead horse (ha, what a wordsmith i am) but cheaper mods don't do me good if i have to afford a new engine. Thanks.

i wish someone would answer this young mans question because i want to know the same stuff as he does. i know its probably been asked 100 times but the least you can do is direct him to a post or site that he (we) can answer.

Crank walk is about as common in these engines (4g63t) as in any other car, but heres the down side, if the crank walks, everything goes, =new engine, if it was well maintained it ought to be ok. try dsm.org
