I got a 1990 Grand Am LE and I found out something about it. The car has had two owners before me that I know of and I found out something that happened. The first owner apparently damaged the front of the car in an accident. There was no engine damage but the whole front bumper was destroyed. The guy replaced it but it is definitly not the standard one. It goes much lower to the ground and it has two spaces for fog lights. If I can get a camera soon I will post a picture.

From what I've seen of your car, it looks like a ground effects kit. Might be something special you can get off the SE or something. That's all I know.

To me it sounds as if the guy replace the bumper with one off of a SE. If your car had fog lights the switch will more then likely still be in the car or there would be a noticable hole. If i remember on my friends 90 LE the fog light switch was on the roof above the review mirror, the only other place i've seen that switch would be on the center console near the power window switch ( if equipped)
If you see another G/A of your year generation compare the car to yours. The other thing is the LE bumper tapered back towards the engine with no grille on the bottom the SE bumper is lower and flares out more at the bottom it has a grill along the bottom with two holes for fog lights with a more aggressive look.

From what you said I did find the light switch. I never really knew what it was so I never used it. But I sort of went off roading in my car and busted the fog lights up so they cant be used now. It doesnt matter because I just got new headlights and you can go spotlighting with the high beams.
