largest possible wheel/tire size combo?

I have a 2001 Toyota Tacoma Pre Runner SR5 4door TRD 2.7 auto pickup, and I have the stock wheels on it, 16s. I want to get 15s! I want to know what wheel/tire size combo will allow me to have big meaty tires for on/off road uses without lifting the truck. I would like to keep 15s cause they are some what cheaper than 16s. What is the max diameter and width of a wheel/tire I can put under my Tacoma?. Thanks in advance for your help!

31 10.5 15 is what I was able to run with lifting the truck. Once I went to 33's, I had to lift the truck up just a little (2 inch Body lift). Without the lift kit, the 33's rubbed when I turned.
