Master Cylinder

My brake lights dont work so I changed the bulbs and still no go, so i then took off the wheel to look at the master cylinder and the plug that goes into the brake switch was off. I tried to plug it in but it would not plug in. I finally got the thing plugged into the brake switch but it would not fit in. I think that the plug may be broken that goes into it :banghead:. I plan on taking it to a shop and asks them whats going on, but i figured id post up here before doing that. If it was the plug going into it would it be hard to replace? or if so would it be expensive to take it to a shop? I dont know to much about cars so i cant do things that are really complex :disappoin

also the car is a 1972 karmann ghia if that makes a difference

I'm assuming you mean a connector with wire(s)? If not then ignore this post.
Anyway, It sounds strange that a plug wouldn't fit in its right place. If you're sure that's the problem, and that's where the specific plug goes, you can go ask a parts store for a replacement pigtail for it. Assuming that it is just a plug with wires going into it, you can cut the old wires and splice the new ones in its place.
