is this a good deal?

theres a 85 z28 on autotrader for 2600.it has 91000 miles,305 tpi,3.73s,edelbrock cam,3 in exhaust, and new tires and brakes. i called about it and the guy said that is putting a 5 speed in it and getting a new paint job.does this price sound about right?thanks

That sounds like a decent price as long as the car is in nice shape. Maybe try and check it out before he has it painted to see if hes trying to cover anything up.

Definitely take a look at it before he paints it. Bondo over rust and paper bags in holes under that pretty decent looking first glance paint job will really make you regret the purchase later.

350 tpi not 305. and i would worry about the tranny conversion, only cause you dont know what kindof work the guy does. not saying he cant do it, just saying that you dont know how good he is...

3 inch exhaust, i bit big dont you think? if its a 305, there should not be a 3 inch exhaust on it. 1985 only came out with a 305 tpi that year i beleive. i dont know what the iroc had in them. you can look at the vin number. look up decoding camaro vin. also, if hes getting it painted and selling it for 2600. how much is he making on it. paint jobs are not that cheap, and if it is, its a maaco job. JUNK. i looked in kellie blue book and its is worth 1505 in Excellent shape.

eh you can get them cheaper but it all depends on how the car was used ,just go over it and if you see anything outa place or half ass start looking for another cause there are so many dont settle for something you dont want , and 3inch isnt too big for a 305
