Hi there mates,
This is my first post here, so be gentile about my english, ok? :iceslolan
I've registraded a while ago, so that I could read and see all modelling photos and comments, and... WOW!! You guys are ver very skilled!
I'm going to show you my Tamiya R33 GTR V-Spec. Of course, I can't match up with you mates, this is only my second model.
Here are the pics of it, painted 2 mist coats and 2 wet coats of TS8. I'm amazed with my self!
Here ya go:

Chassis had a fine coat of gray primer, so that the red could be a little darker. Don't know if the photos show that correctly but.. it worth a shot!!!
Best regards to you all!

It is great to know you've enjoyed it!
Here are two new photos: Don't notice the rimms, because I have to get that paint off and repaint, but this time with a nice airbrush. (don't have one, so I must buy).

Hi mates.
Here are some progress pics of my R33 after being on hold for a while.
Strped the TS-8 paint and using automotive paint, here are the results on the chassis.
Grey primer:

First mist coat:

last wet coat:

Been doing some work on the brakes too.
http://www.luislopes.net/forum/026.jpg
And here's my top purchase of this month. And airbrush from Holding. Double action, gravity feed. a bargain of 40€/$49 USD (very cheap here in Portugal, I presume)

mike united, skylines are the best cars in the world for me. To bad that there isn't a Skyline in Portugal. Only in model.
Jaymes, that Ferrari 360 is my first model. It is a Revell. Cheaper than Tamiya around here, it was a test to see if I can build a car.
Tankaboy, my next model will be one Hayabusa (love this two-wheel beast), and the one R34 I hope.
sk8ter_in_ny, and all the rest of you mates, Thank you for your fine comments. I'm also stripping down the paint. Planning to paint the R33 with a diferent color, and add a SAS GT Wing. I would also like to change wheels, but where can I find one online shop around in Europe?
Cheers mates.

hello,
I'm back with more updates on my R33. Just painted the two fist mist coats and here is the result:
http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/030.jpg
A question: Should I give 3 mist, 2 wet and 2 clear coats and then polish, or should I forget clear coats and start polishing right after the last wet?
Hope you like. Cheers!

corsaman, afinal andam aqui alguns tugas na área. :)
Pedro, take it easy dude! you'll be seeing it finished as soon as humanly possible. ;)
RB26DETT-GTR. Thks. The red was too bright. Perhaps I should have primed it with gray primer not white.
Well, guys, First wet is done. What do you think?
I'm not worried if the paint looks like has a bit of texture. I read on Alex Kustov's site that it is normal to become textured while it dries. I trully belive that the second wet will cover this. Or else i must get my arm ready, if you know what I mean.
well a photo worths a thousand words. and what about three? ;)

Well guys,
Time for some update photos off my yellow R33.
As I'm waiting for the ink to cure, I decided to start paint some other parts.
So, I started to paint my R33 wheels with flat back spray. Here's the result:
http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/040.jpg
http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/041.jpg
I also started to use my airbrush. As this was the first time using one, some mistakes were made. Sprayed too much ink and it scourged.
http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/042.jpg
Removed the paint (I'm using Tamiya's acrilics, so very easy to strip), and sprayed a bit of automotive primer. Sanded it, and tryed to smooth it with some tooth past, but it still became texturized.
http://www.automodelista.org/images/attach/045.jpg
Well, I'm not going to strip the paint again, but I won't spray interior and small parts with automotive primer any more. I'm learning with my mistakes.
BTW, I know that R33's dash board isn't painted with X18, but car tuning is all a matter of personal taste! :evillol:
Please feel free to coment.
Cheers!

Hi mates,
After a lot of work masking the R33, it had a small accident. My little cat wanted to see if he could drive the car. So he broke the kit.
Here's a photo of how it was wnhen I found it.
http://www.luislopes.net/forum/050.JPG
Using some plastic glue and gray primer, started to try and fix the kit.
http://www.luislopes.net/forum/051.JPG
After some filling and sanding.
http://www.luislopes.net/forum/053.JPG
Also assembled the SAS GT wing (thanks for this link Chris)
