the paints are: primer: citadel skull white primer, the red is testors spraypaint (yep, testors :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: ) and the handpainted details are citadel red gore and chainmail silver.

thanks for the posts guys

Ol guy: simplify that a little bit, its late and im tired and my back hurts

Thanks for posting up pics of the motor, now I have an idea of what mine should look like if I were to build it from the box. Instead Im convertin' mine into a fuel injected motor. Looks good!

By any chance do you have any pics with the motor mounted and the body restin' on the chassis?

yo mike: As you may have noticed, no pics of the body and chassis have been posted, im really sorry, my brother stole the camera and borrowed it to a friend of his, and i havent been able to shoot any pics at all :/ im really sorry ( :sorry: ) but when i get it back, be prepared for a bigass update :)

Edit: havent been able to work at the body cause i ran out of red paint, and hell no i aint going to buy new testors spray can again, its suicide. Im waiting at my order from HLJ and ill redo the paintjob so it will turn out black, what you think about that? :)

Nice beginings of a Rod, my mates 37 Street Rod was about 85% done 3 days ago, now the engine is out for detailing and the wheels have been taken off, oh yeah and it has no front suspenion.
Hope to see yours finished when you get the camera back. Colour plans?

Hey, Zlaja!
Looking good, if you manage to get everything else in this state it will be smashing. Is this the project you need teh brake fluid for? As I pm'd you, be careful and test on a scrap piece from the very model you are about to strip. You don't want to end up with a molten body as I did :-(
If you need Tamiya spray cans you can order them from Hobbybiten in Stockholm, don't know if you end up with a cheaper can if you order them from HLJ, but check it out and maybe you'll get faster delivery. Phone number and such are on their web site http://www.hobbybiten.se

Cheers!

Thanks man, the colour will be black or red as i was planning at first, but i realised that the testors spraycans sucked so ill see when i get my order from hlj.

Proosen: You maybe used brake CLEANER instead of brake FLUID, the brake cleaner melts the body.

Nope! It's fluid, you can have the bottle if you want to :naughty: bought it at OKQ8 and it wasn't a very happy moment when I picked up my Lotus Europa and discoverd that it was like a chewing gum, sure the paint stripped right of :grinyes: Well, well...at least I learned something new on that occasion.

I agree that brake fluid can soften some bodies. I was painting a camaro and had to strip. Then the body was soft and could be manipulated with a fingernail extremely easily. Maybe its a certain type of fluid or plastic?

Yeah!
But the funny thing is that I've stripped Tamiya's before without any problems and this one just melted. So you all be careful out there and test before putting in those precious model parts.

what colour you doing? heh, I used to use citadel paints. they were a million years old and awful! I use standard tamiya stuff now :) Yours seem to look better than mine though.

it was supposed to be red, but i ran out of paint so i ditched that plan and im waiting for some cash so i can buy brake fluid to strip the paint and use the tamiya paint that i ordered from hlj :)
