my friday night [video]

This night started out great and only got better. Seriously one of the nicest nights i've had since i got my car.

Starting out, i raced 2 different Trans Ams on the freeway, one an LT-1 and one an LS-1. I pulled easily on the first, but the LS-1 was a tough match. He pulled easy on me until about 120 mph where it flattened out.
We raced a few times, whenever there was a break in traffic. It was really fun. We raced from Manteca, CA to Modesto, CA.

Then later on that night, i saw a seriously sweet '02 Mustang gt racing a '00 Camaro SS. The Mustang had a very nice black/red paint job, and he said he had I/H/E. The Camaro was stock, except for his nice sounding flows.

I didnt see who won the race between them, but i saw them pull into the Target parking lot after. I flipped a bitch and went in after them. They said they were going to go to a nice 4-lane road with very light traffic at night. I followed them, and we raced a number of times, before we heard sirens and broke.

Race 1: Me ('92 Corvette LT-1) vs the Camaro with an LS-1.
We started from a roll, and he pulled about 2-2.5 cars prett fast, then it leveled out and i pretty much kept up with him. I never did make up any of the lost ground though. His car sounded so nice - it was litterally scary.

Race 2: All 3 of us raced from a light. I launched pretty even with the SS, but i had to let off for just a second because there was a car ahead in my lane. I pulled behind him, and he just kept pulling away. Those LS-1s are damn fast. The Mustang and I were close until third gear, and i pulled on him.

Race 3: Mustang vs. Camaro from a light. Pretty predictable race, but the Mustang put up a nice fight. Camaro won by 3-4 cars.

Race 4: Me vs SS from a 20 mph roll. The Camaro got an unbelievable launch, and I didnt stand a chance. Watch the video, his car was so incredibly fast.

Race 5: Me vs GT from a light. I think this was the closest race of the night. Unfortunately, my buddy didnt get it on tape. I have trouble with tire spin off of the line (if anyone has tips on how to prevent this let me know), so the mustang got about 3/4 a car on the launch. My bumper was at his back tire. I was slowly creeping back through second gear, and once again in third gear i pulled back ahead. We quit at about 100 mph with me a car ahead.

Hehe, don't feel too bad about the Camaro SS, I've watched videos where they pull on R33 GTRs pretty hard. They are strong cars; not my favorite, but good.

Poor Mustang...sounds like he was gettin worked all night heh. :banghead:

It works when i click on the link, but i think that is because i am automatically logged into the server. (i used my sbc briefcase to post it).

great kill. and yeah those LS1's are beast. the only imports that really stands a chance are supras or really worked RX-7's. and since no one here really has a GT-R we can't say anything about that. was there any quick imports that night? or was it all domestics in your area?

Nice run, the GT shouldn't have been much of a problem. Those 2v's need a lot of $$ to go fast. The ls1 was a nice race, although I would expect the two standard shift cars to squeal from a roll (tires), especially if the mustang had gears :smile:
