Hey guys whats up,
Ok so me and my friend installed my brand new alpine 9831 hu and after the install everything worked amazing. This really appears to be a quality HU because my speakers sounded better instantly, and they are stock. But when i pulled out of the fire house garage and my head lights turned on, i have a 96 cougar xr7 and they are automatic, my gauge lights didnt light up.
So i checked all of the fuses and they seemed fine. Only funny thing in notices was there was a 10 amp fuse in place where a 5 amp should hav e been so i just left it in place. Then i checked the ground wire.. i ran it straight from the end of the unit down the back of the console and grouned it down right infront of the shifter... because i couldnt get right behind the unit. Everything seemed fine but still.. no gauge lights. Than i undid that and ran the ground wire to the black wire comming out of the stock hook up thing and it was a ground wire so if figured that might work.. But still no lights.
What do i have to do to fix this?? just bring it in to a shop and not worry as much??
