Help pls......my sub wont start. Changed the rotor and cap, newly tuned-up, battery is on full charge, alternator 'bout year old, starter 'bout year and a half. When I turn it on it just clicks....:(, banged the starter a few times but didn't work.....anyone out there with a tech-know-how on what's wrong?......

check and clean battery connections, the side posts are notorious for corrosion and even loosening on their own

Couple of suggestions. You've checked +ve and -ve on the battery,+ve on the starter, but have you checked the -ve to the engine block. Also if you have a multimeter, I would check and see if the power is going across the soleniod contact to the starter motor. You could have burnt contacts in the solenoid and the power is not getting to the starter.

I'm having the same problem. I would clean the battery for corrosion, but sometimes there are none. This will only be temporary until a 1-3 month later, then it would start all over again. I'm thinking about replacing the battery cables.

We had the same problem 2 weeks ago. We had to change the starter out. We paid $140 for the starter at the local dealership here in town
