my freind wants to put a bigger and better engine in his 1991 CRX Hf it has a 1.5 in it now. He thouht you can put H22 engine in it but iam not sure. and if you can can you put a turbo on it. if not whaat is a good engine that you could put in it and make it fast.

H22 is a bad choice for a CRX. I would suggest a B16 it's an easy swap and has huge aftermarket support.

Hey Spank102, try this link.. http://hybrid.honda-perf.org/tech/4gtech.html
I agree with Marc-OS, the h22 isn't a good idea for a swap. It is possible but it is a LOT of motor for that car. It depends on what he is looking for tho. Speed costs money, how fast do u want to go?
Good Luck :cool:

H22 is probably only good for a drag car. Try a b series motor or a ZC or Sohc Vtec. All of these motors are good and each have a different level of difficulty and amount of money to complete the swap.:)

Performance

No formal time tests have been made yet, but owner estimates 0-60 in about 2-2.5 seconds, 1/4 mile at 9.25 and 160 mph on about 1000 HP. It handles perfectly straight up to 130 mph - top speed so far. This car does NOT sit in the garage and look pretty. It drives around town and looks "surprisingly normal." That is, until the rear engine is fired up...

Well, it's still front wheel drive... and rear wheel drive :D

H22 = heartache. A waste of time

I will agree with everyone. The H22 is a bad choice for a CRX. It's too heavy. Go with a easy motor like the B16 which is lighter and has more aftermarket support like Marc-OS said. Later down the road you can even turbo it and still have alot of power from it.;)

how exactly can that front engine even pull the car around? thats a lot of weight for such a lil engine... now the rear one mmmmmmm

why even go with a motor swap when you could just rebuild your motor and put a turbo/supercharger on it?
