coolant leak, excessive AC condensation

ive got a coolant leak going on, now that my 99 blazer is just out of warranty =(, ill prolly be fixing it myself... i havent located the exact source of the leak yet, but it seems to be coming from the front of the engine just behind the belt somewhere. anyone have any thoughts/insight with such limited information? =)

also, my AC creates a virtual river of condensation on the ground- more than i see any other car produce. the drips are coming from the back of the passenger wheel well. is this normal for a 99 blazer? there seems to be normal condensation coming off all the components and pipes for the AC system, but im suspecting more going on inside the housing.

thanks for any replies, ill keep ya posted on the progress of this coolant leak. btw im replacing about a gallon of water a day to the radiator- at $10 a gallon for coolant, ive switched to water for now =P ta~

Go to AutoZone and Borrow/Rent a cooling system pressure cap. It is basically a Radiator cap with a small tire pump and a pressure gauge on it. Fill your system with coolant and with the engine off and cool, pressurize the system with this Pressure Cap. Be careful not to overpressurize the system or you'll blow out something else in your system. Pressurize the system to the pressure rating of the radiator cap (14lbs. for example). Once the system is pressurized, check for leaks all around the engine, including heater hoses and the water pump weeper hole located on the bottom of the water pump. If you have a leak, this should make it spray coolant out without the engine's fan blowing it all over the engine compartment. If the coolant comes out of the weeper hole on the water pump, that means the seal is bad and a new water pump is in order.
