what would cause the RPM to drop slow?
when I push the clutch in/let the gas off and shift, I find myself waiting for the RPM to drop so when I let the clutch out it would be a smooth shift and not be wearing my clutch out.

sticky idle air control is possible... faulty map sensor, vacuum leaks are also a possible cuprit. Does it idle smooth? at what rpm is low idle?
You said 2m4 SE, are you sure it's not a 2m6?

2M4 2 door, mid engine, 4 cyl
yes I'm sure, it has an Iron Duke
Idle is smooth after it is warmed up, about 800 rpm
when Its cold it does have a problem of rpm dropping and engine stalls
I just tap the gas to keep it from stalling.

I'd check the idle air control motor.

well every now and then i will start mine in the morning and it stalls on me...put it like this...if u have a 5 speed...let it warm up even in warm air...because when u start shifting...it is a lot smoother if it warms up...
