I have a Big problem and need some serious help???

Hi I'm new to the forums and I need some help. I don't know if my clutch is going and needs to be replaced or not. When I try to start the car it just stalls unless I rev the engine before it can happen. But once the car gets moving it only stalls when I apply the clutch to down shift. So at first I thought it was the air filter so I replaced it, and then I thought it was the fuel injectors which it could be, but I bought some fuel infector cleaner, and I think it may have helped. the only time it dosn't stall is when I have the clutch all the way in and I try to apply the brakes, but I hear a gringing noise and am prevented from applying the brake due to resistance. If some one could help me I would really appreciate it. I cant afford to go to a mechanic cause it cost to much cash. oh yeah and the car is just over 190,000 k.

As for the grinding noise when braking, check your pads, their probably worn. Now for the stalling, your idle speed control might be broken(very common problem on these cars), same thing happened to me, just open the throttle little bit (that steel string @ ur throttle body) tighten it. Then on top of your throttle body u'll see a screw tucked in right where the pipe connects, turn it counter-clock wise(remember how many turns), just play with that till ur idle is round 700 - 900rpm range
