How can I calm down my new exuast

It is just too dam loud, the shop did a great job on install for $60 bucks. the new header, high flow cat, and 5Zigen muffle, is all that’s on there. But this thing scares the crap outta people, makes little kids cry...

I just purchased a silencer off eBay, but i have a feeling, its still not going to be as quiet as im going to want it to be...

Anyone have any suggestions???

When I told muffler shop dude about my similar situation, he said get a resonator or tell the mrs. to stop whining and deal with it. Then after laughing it up, he told me that it will sound better the more horsepower you have.

i hope when i get the exuast silecer it s does somthin..., but i know its gonna still be to loud

maybe cut out the 3.5 muffler and put in a bigger silencer in its place?

silencer wont do too much. What you should do to really quiet it down a bit is get a resonator isntalled. Have a shop weld one in, it will make a big difference.

I'm a newb when it comes to exhaust systems, but if I were to find a good sounding exhaust, and I only wanted it sound loud half the time but quiet the other half, will a silencer really make a big difference to it. And how does it work exactly.

i put a 23"? cherry bomb muffer and used it as a resonator and it made my exhaust much quieter. It cost me like 20 bucks at checker auto parts.

I like havin' a resonator on my car, keeps it nice and quiet until you stomp on the throttle, then it growls like a toigah

We have honda's, not muscle cars...our cars don't "growl"

dont get a glasspack they sound like shit, alot of people are trying to pimp their cars with 20" chromies and glasspacks and its the gayest shit ive ever seen/heard.

I just trew in some mesh metal spunge or somthin like that in the exuast, then put an empty tuna can with some drilled holes on the exuast tip, sounds ok, but i lost the hp bump..

So i wasted my time buying a silencer and resonator off ebay.

A resonator should do the trick. I had one on my old exhaust after the cat but my new(est) exhaust has the cat (2.5") pushed back a bit cuz a flange needed to be welded to it in order to bolt to the header so no resonator with my cannister muffler. It's loud but I have decent flow. My wife don't like it and wants me to redo it again. Ugh! Anyway, a resonator right after the cat before the curve should be all you need.
