1995 jeep overheats

My son's 1995 jeep straight six is overheating. The fan does not go on. Checked fuses and relays all OK. The chilton book shows a wiring diagram for 2 sensors - 1 for the guage and one for the fan. I found one at the thermostat housing with 2 wires (not what is shown in the wiring diagram) When I remove the wire the temp. light goes on so it appears to be working. The fan does not go on when the wire is reconnected.

Is there another sensor for the fan and where?

Where can I get a good wiring diagram?

Help I need the car on the road by Monday.

Thanks

look at the bottom tankont he rad if there is a sensor there, that is what it is for.

or you could wire the fan direct to a keyon circuit and have it run whenever the engine is running.

You have 2 fans right? A mechanical fan and an electric. Over heats when? A/C on, idling? To find the sensor, follow your wires going to the fan. Over heating assumed by light coming on? Need to know more info to help you out. Could bea couple things. When it heats-up, disconnect the connector to the fan motor, and read out the DC voltage, should be 12v, if you get this good chance your motor is bad.

yes i have 2 fans. the motor works when i jump it directly. I don't have any power at the connector, when the ac is on our when overheated.

I can't fins another sensor on the radiator.

is there a better book i might beable to get. the dealer wants $75.00 just to tell me if there is a sensor or where it is. aargh!

thanks for your help
