integra gsr tranny

I have recently been driving my 2000 gsr and the linkage all of a sudden decided to switch where all my gears went and when in its gear its like water. ive never experienced that before but from what i no i gotta pull the tranny to get to the likage cuz its inside of it and not accesab;e from the outside. i was wondering if anyone here has taken apart a gsr transmission and can tell me if it can b done on my own without having a press. id like any help, tips, or sujjestions u have to offer. im all for doing it myself if i can i just dont no what im getting into cuz ive never taken one apart before. a few details my 1st gear is where 5th is 2nd 3rd and fourth are close to where they are but i cant get it into reverse or 5th well actually i just cant find them. its the weirdest thing ive seen when its in gear it moves all over the place im assuming is the linkage. please help me out. thanks alot.

You could have a bent shift linkage. You dont have to pull out the trans to get the linkage out. Go under there and see if everything is in place. IF you want to change it... on the tranny where the linkage connects, you'll see that u have to remove the pin in there. To do that you will need to get a plunge and hammer it out.

is there a cover or something in the bellhousing where the linkage is. ive checked everything out underneath it all lookd fine but if i grab my shaft bar and wiggle it where it goes into the tranny its like water so i no its inside it just didnt look like u could get to it without pulling it all apart

I'm sure theres no cover. You should be able to see it. Check to see if your bushings are ok. They could be worn out?

no its in the transmission im sure of it i got under and checked

and about the lsd i thought it was lsd cuz i can smoke both tires at the same time but i guess its not

Yeh i know. You'll see the end of the linkage...trust me i've done this before.

i grabed the bar that goes into the tranny and it goes all over the place
