i have a 92 bonneville se and whenever i use the ac and use the regular fan the amp gauge drop almost to the red and stays there sometimes after i turn it off and not long after that the alternator starts to whine and then i have to replace it again, i am starting on my third alternator all ready and i was wondering if anyone had any similar problems or what not..... another thing as far as the facory radio wiring goes i was also wondering if cutting the factory wiring would have any effect on the car, because i bought the car off my brothers girlfriends mom and my brother told me that after they had cut the wires off that some things on the car had changed. This is just a question not important but if you can answer it go on ahead

cutting the factory wires will not have any affect on this unless someone cut some wrong wires and connected them wrong. does your car have a high wattage stereo system? if you have a bad battery and replace your altenator , this will kill your new altenator quickly. check your battery.

I agree with iceman, sounds like a bad battery or possibly a bad ground or battery cable.

The two small wires just off the alt can break of just be a bad connection there. Repair the wires by slodering them together.
