Ok, so after about a week of no Z. It being in the shop getting the fuel system reworked.
It's all better now, it boosts like a crazy-mofo now. :icon16:
Anywho... First night having it back knowing it's 'stutter' free. I was itchin to play with anything that bit.
Nothing was biting all night, even went to a 'street racing' kinda meet with a buncha friends.
Nothing, people see the car. And don't think anything of it. Of course when I pull into the parking lot they all look cause the exhaust is pretty loud. And the turbo timer is a dead give away, especially when I get out and walk away with keys in my hand.
End of the night, I start to take my buddy home. Leaving the parking lot a newer Prelude starts to follow me out. We get to the light outside the parking lot and I look over and the two guys are looking at me. Light goes green, I take off normal. They do nothing. Rather uneventful.
Almost to my friends place on the freeway...
Me: Ugh, there's nobody to race. I wanted to smash somebody too.
Alex: I know.. sucks.
That's when I look in my rear view and see headlights weaving in and out of traffic and closing in quickly (typical asshole driver). I smile... I can't quite make out what it is, but the lights do look familiar.
I let off the gas to slow...
Alex: What is it?
Me: hehe
Alex looks behind us as a C5 comes roaring up next to us two lanes over to the left. He gets stopped behind a BMW 3-Series and he was trying to get around him but he couldn't cause a car was in the lane next to him.
Alex: You want to play.
Me: I want to play.
I drop down to 4th gear, and patiently wait for the Corvette two lanes over. I speed up so I'm about 3 car lengths ahead of them, the BMW speeds up a little and the C5 starts to make his way into the lane next to him to the right to get around the BMW. I wait... watching for the headlights to jump up with him accelerating.
Soon as the Corvette cleared the BMW I see the head lights rock back as he gets on the gas to open her up. At this point I'm about 2 lengths ahead of him, I slowly start to roll on the throttle.
And when he gets with in 1 length away I mash the pedal wind out 4th gear from about 70mph, shift up to 5th gear and let off at about 110-115mph. And quickly leave the C5 by about 10 car lengths.
Now, I don't consider this a 'race'. Cause it wasn't. I just wanted to play, and to be honest I don't think the guy in the C5 expected me to shoot off like that.
Although, after I slowed down he didn't drive as fast as he was previously.
I'll try to get a 'legit' race with a C5 soon. Just thought I'd share this 'quicky'.
