tomorrow im going to buy new wheels, i was wondering what would look and preform better, regardless of price. 16's or 17's on a 1997 NT Eclipse

17''s would look better but 16''s will preform better. You would probly never know the differance. I have 17''s going from my 95 Nt going from 16''s i cant really tell.

dude 17's with low profile tires looks perfect even if you dont lower your car.

Any bigger you need a chamber kit.

i thought if you go any bigger you just make up for it with a smaller series tire like 16 with 45 maybe 17 40 and 18 as a 35 series as an example i mean and then you wont need a camber kit right?

yeah looks wise 17's hands down but other than having cheap futura tires on my 16's that got no grip before i switched to my 17's id say the diference performance wise isnt majorly huge..

For eclipses THe wheel fenders are extra bigger then most import cars. If you ever seen a Lexus GS 400 on 20"s thats how 20"s will look on the eclipse

run 17s with 225/45/17s, do not go any thinnner....u need the extra rubber to keep the ride smooth and rim safe from the asphalt, plus a thinner sidewall looks pretty goofy on 17s considering our huge wheel wells if unlowered. 17s are the perfect mix between looks and performance.

Any bigger you need a chamber kit.
That's not necessarily true, because i bolted 18's up without any extra modifications. I've been rolling them since the beginning of the summer, and have had no problems at all.
