I bought a 86 Mustang with an engine out of a 88 Mustang in it. It came EFI but the guy change it to carb and put a 2 barrell on. The engine is a High output with a Roller cam OK. I am putting a 4 barrell on soon but some people thinks that it wont handle it. Is this true or will it be fine? I thought it should be fine where it is a high output. What are your opinions?

this is hard for me to say because i m a bit old school and always thought a carb belonged on a muscle car. but i now agree with andrew and also say go EFI . sometimes can be harder to work with but the plus' are far more satisfying . but this is just my opinion. as for the carb i see no reason why if its already set up for a carb that you couldnt put a 4 barrel on it .

Of course you can put a 4-barrel on it. The 83-85 Mustang 302's came with four-barrel carbs stock!

Thanks again boyz. What is the stock horsepower on these cars. I already put underdrive pulleys on, took the clutch fan off and put an electric fan on. 2 1/2 inch Dynomax exhaust with a X pipe and 3:73 gears, Accel wires and coil and Weld Racing wheels.
