96 T&C lxi

My T&C started acting up last week. When coming to a stop, the van jerks and lunges as if the accelerator is stuck. If you put the van into neutral or park, it idles perfect. If you reverse, it kills the engine.

I have had so few problems with this van. This is my 3rd one: first a dodge, then a plymouth, now a Chrysler. I am trying to get 200k out of it and am sure I can.

Any thoughts as to what is causing my problem. We have cleaned the throttle body and that has helped somewhat. My husband has the items to change the filter and fluid in the tranny.

Any other suggestions?

I would drop the trans pan and see what is inside. Its possible the torque converter clutch is staying locked. Also a crank sensor would be a good place to start.
