I have a 2002 getta VR6 triptronic with climate control. My problem is that while driving home i heard a high pitched hum twice ( from the engine or fan) while i was at a red light, this only lasted for a couple of seconds then went away. Then a couple of miles down the road while at another red light my A/C stopped and only blew out hot air. At this time i noticed that my coolent temp was rising. I made it home turned it off before i red lined and opened the hood. An hour later after it cooled down i turned it on and noticed that the 2 fans up by the radiator were not running.
Now here is my question, could it be the temp switch or the fan itself that is not working correcly? or something else, The car is still under warrenty but the dealer cant see it untill next week and if it is an easy fix i might just want to do it my self
thanks

also where is the temp switch located on the engine, i could not find it

It could be alot of things, but due to the noise I'd guess the fan motor has a problem. If so it's not cheap & you'll want the dealer to pay for it. You're probably stuck untill they can look at it. By the way, our local dealership will schedule about a week out, but if the car is dropped off as it is undriveable they will usually work it in sooner than the next available schedule date.
