88-91 crx CAI intake on a 2.8 fiero

This mod has been done by many people on pennocks, has anyone on here done it? If so does it rub against the deck hinge?

They made the crx past 1988? (shows you how much I know about Hondas)

They did make the CRX past 88. The first gen CRX's(84-87) had the can type filter, so there weren't any CAI for them that I know of. Then they came out with the second gen(88-91) which featured an intake that goes from the left side of the intake manifold to an airbox. Those have CAI available. I don't know if it would work because I have only seen under the hood/trunk of a 4 cylinder Fiero, However a short RAM intake shouldn't be that big. Basically, find a Honda friend and go for it. I used to have a CRX, check the sig. It had the can thing, so I just used a Fram.

I wasn't asking if it could be done, I know it can be done and it works very well from what I hear. You have to use the 2 piece CAI form the crx si. I just wanted to know if it rubs.

All you need is the CRX short ram intake the actual CRX CAI is too long. It wil not hit the deck hinge.

So all you need is the SRI? Does it go into the side fender. I removed my restrictive airbox and air intake system all together. I need my filter to be inside the fender right next to my air intake scoop.
