I'm trying to remove the center console in order to get to my cd player so I can plug in my new amp to it and I'm having trouble getting it off. I've removed the two screws under bottom trim, two on the left trim and the two behind the vent but there still seems to be something on the left side holding it in. Anybody know what it is.
Oh and its a '93 Eclipse.

a flat head screw-d should get the job done...the center console, you have to pry it out... teres no right way to do it, just be sensible and find good leverage so u dont scratch or break anything and just snap it out of place.

if all you need is to get to your radio you just pop out the trim ring around the radio and take out the four screws holding the radio in. if you do want the whole center section off you have to pull the radio first

no problem. 2g you do have to pull the whole center but on a 1g you just pull the trim ring around the radio

how do you take it of on a 2G or were can i find step by step process? and also im getting a sony mx-800 or something like that from crutchfield and they say i need to ground my speakers and i need a power source. ( they are sending a plug so the only thing that i need to do is connect to the stereo and just plug it in in the original plug) but that i still need to do the grounding and getting a power source. i thought the plug should have all this included :screwy:

If Its a 2G Then it is fairly simple. Take out the 2 screws inside the center console. Then the ones on the back on each side. And then take out your ashtray/cup holder and there are 2 more screws in there. After that its just popping it out of place. Please use common sense with how much pressure to apply and the right leverage. DSMs dont like to be "forced" She'll get mad and break on you. Its very simple, you just have to find the right way to do it.
