so yeah this morning I was driving down the road in front of my house and all of the sudden my car starts making a ton of racket and stops moving, so I get out and peep under the hood and notice my skunk 2 cam gear laying up by the h2o resivor along while a chunk of my comp cam in it, and a missing timing belt...
moral of the story, i got zero compression in all of my cylinders now, a day after getting it running again :disappoint:
What caused it, the pin in the cam gear and the shaft (you know like the one on your crank pulley) shifted and my car got something like 8 degrees retarded valves hit shit stopped, and things broke.

so you are saying that your wooddruff key failed and caused the cam gear to slip and and cause pistons to hit valves causing camshaft to break along with the timing belt??? Damn.
So the piece laying by the resevoir was the cam gear bolted on to a piece of the camshaft?

That is exactly what happened! and yeah the bolt was still holding the wooddruff key and a nice chunk of the cam in it, and do you realize its about half as much to get a set of aftermarket stainless valves as opposed to stock honda valves.
The joy of cars eh, but what would I do with out my 4G...

i would but my camera is broken... just imagine a little chunk of the cam still in the came gear twisted around, and a bunch of bent valves...
and yeah its just right now is not the time that i want'ed to fully rebuild an engine... i'd rather do it when i have to money to do it right...

Aww man! Looks like you jumped on my boat. Sorry to hear that shit! You were one of my only mini-me buds! (That still had his car running) that REALLY SUCKS so is comp gonna give you a new cam or what? I know that bitch is expensive. I test drove mine to tampa, which is like 2 hrs away, and everything was fine untill I noticed my tac started jumping around and it wouldn't idle right. I was like wtf? Maybe my dizzy came loose since there is only one bolt holding it on. Looked under the hood, and the dizzy is still tight, all the wires are still on, then I look over and the alternator belt had been semi-shredded and flipped over rib-side out. So I am now stuck on the side of an Interstate at midnight without my gun, and a cheap toolset, luckily I was able to turn the belt back around tighten it back down enough to get it to my friends house.

I am sorry about your bad luck. I too know the woes of a having f-ed up honda engine...No car to go to make your 40 mile commute to work in..lose your job...and then when you get a new engine in the damn thing and have in running you have about 900 odd dollars in debt from your bills getting behind and collectors knipping at your heels and calling you every damn day!!..oops sorry I kinda went off there:p Keep your chin up lad and hopefully you'll get a new swap or get it fixed up or something...I wish you good luck! :)

Yeah, it'll all work out eventually, just kinda sucks, and i'm not sure if comp will replace it or not, from what my cousin was telling me comp is a good company about their warranty, because they're such a big company whats a cam to them... hopefully i'll have it running by next weekend again, and I might try and do a mild port job on the head while it's off again

Yeah that'd be nice, but it was the wooddruff pin that failed, which came from honda, and considering its not neccessarly made for that application it'd be hard to prove anything...
