A rebuilt transmission doesn't mean that new parts are used (though it almost always does). It just means its torn down and put back together. Most often with our trannies, some of the syncros are replaced.

so how would taking it apart then putting it back together w/ the same parts help at all???

Like anything else thats been glued, screwed or plugged - things can get lose or out of alignment. Like I said, its unusual to tear something down and rebuild it without needing to replace something. Rebuilding and replacing parts are mutually exclusive.

ok because i just got all the syncro's, seals and i think a shaft all replaced...i guess that wouldnt exactly be considered a rebuilt tranny then...right?

yeah, that's a rebuild. It was cracked open and pieces were replaced.
