Hey, I need some help brainstorming. do you guys remember the pic that YoungVR4 posted a while back about the gold GTO in Japan? well he also mentioned a company called GTP and I bought that same hood that was on the gold GTO from them, problem is that one of the vents lays right over my airfilter and the other day it rained and water got into the filter (luckily I noticed and cleaned it before turning the car on) well can anyone help me brainstorm a way to fabricate some kind of cover, maybe some insert or simple thing I can slap on the top/bottom of the car to prevent the water from getting in when it rains. I had a friend who went out and bought some huge magnetic strips and when it rained he would throw it over his hood vents, problem is he had a metal hood and magnets dont grip on carbonfiber. .........any ideas?

you can either fabricate some kind of hood vent covering (i'd cover the vents from underneath, or else it would look stupid) OR you can relocate the air filter.

yeah the hood vent covering sounds good. most cars with vents on the hood already have this, suprised they don't supply it for you. your just gonna have to do some customizing

Yo young, you got a c-f hood too, did you use any hood pins for it. The latch on my hood is held by some resin stuff, it looks strong but I dont wanna risk it so I ordered some hood pins, btw thanks for finding that site bro. I saw the same hood I got for $700 at carbon-creations but GTP got me the same one for $600.

um, have you seen what can happen to a CF hood at speed when you don't have the pins?
UNless you want to watch your hood leave the car and fly away like a kite I'd suggest getting some hood pins.
This guy did not think he needed hood pins either (http://3sforum.com/NGvids/ngdrag33.wmv)

I bet that guy feels like an idiot.... Hood pins are definately a good thing to have, You don't think most drag cars w/ aftermarket hoods just have pins to look cool do ya?

Holly Shift! I dont like the way the pins look on a car but after seeing that I'm glad I ordered them! Young's hood is OEM style from what I gather (havent seen any pics of it yet though) so I dont think he will have a problem, but mine has anoying vents which can pick up air and cause a lift effect.
