Just bought a 86 town car (77,000 miles) The right rear sags abit. Could it be problems with the factory air shocks on it? Is it possible to replace the rear air shocks with standard type shocks? Which would I be better off with?

Hmmm..
Wrong terminology if you're talking about airbags, airsprings. The shock is another issue alltogether.

I'm not familliar with 1986 other than they ride very nice!! If they came stock with coil springs, and seperate shocks, the PO may have added the air adjustable shocks you mentioned to compensate for worn, sagging coil springs or pulling a trailer.

If this is the case get new coil springs and stock shocks for the best possible ride.

It is not shocks that keep you car high r lower...it is the springs that are worn...you have to replace the springs...the shocks help the car absorb impacts
