96 GT Dome Lights

For some reason the dome lights stopped working when I open the doors. They still turn on if I hit the buttons on them (all 4 lights turn on), and if I turn the dash light dimmer all the way up all 4 lights turn on as well. But they do nothing when I open the doors, or lift the handle like they used to.
Is there a ON/Off switch somewhere (like my 92 transport has)?? If I kill the lights on my 92, they will also turn on manually.... But I can't locate any off switch for the Grand Am... Like the Transport has.
Is there a switch on the door assembly somewhere, or is that computer controlled.
Any help appreciated.
TIA,
Jeff

I don't remember whole mechanization but there is a computer that reads door switch input and activates an output that turns on the lamps (so it is computer controlled). Curious - do you get the key left in ignition chime when you leave key in ignition and open driver door? That would indicate that this computer is reading door switch and so your issue would be with the output from computer (called MICAM) to the lamps. Obviously the power feed to lamps are OK because you can switch on manually.
Perhaps I can look into this further but first post back to confirm your chime operation.

Thanks for the info... I checked and the Key Buzzer does work. I can open the door and the buzzer will go off, but still no dome lights.
Thanks

OK, well that rules out a couple things. If I can find any info on your specific model I will post a link to something.

LOL... thanks for looking, I've got it fixed. I tried to use my Cruise, and that didn't work either. Apparently the Door switch for the lights gets it power off of the same circuit as the cruise control... and when the Fuse fell out (not in all the way I guess), they stopped working. Since I never really use the cruise, I didn't see any connection till today. Fuse wiggles out just far enough to loose contact but still look like it was in there :screwy:
At least it was something simple :grinno:
Thanks.

Errr.. Scratch that...
Apparently, It decided to work on its own a couple of times and is now back to Not working. I'm lost once again. Oh well.
Any Ideas??
Thanks
