I have a 99 tj.the heater/defroster does not blow hot air.The fan switch, selector switch, and hot-cold switch all work properely. The engine heats up normally and stays right at 210 degrees, like it should.I don't know how to tell if the heater core is good or not?I didn't notice any antifreeze leaking at anytime. The coolant level has also stayed up right where it is suppose to be.What could be wrong???? :uhoh:

There is a little black hose that runs from the engine across the firewall to the passenger side. It then runs down and around the fire wall throught the side of the body. I had a crack in mine where it rubbed the body and it disabled the vent switching ability. No matter what setting I chose I could not get air to come on even though all the switches apeared to be working. It uses the air presure to switch open the vents.

also there was actually a factory recall on that. apparently the right or left side ground comes loose and it causes the blower motor to not work. i have the same problem and spoke to the dealer about it and they said bring it in and they will fix it for you.

If your blower motor is working, and air is coming out, but it just won't get hot...try flushing out the heater core. My buddy has a '97 TJ that was doing the exact same thing. A quick flush of the heater core solved the problem. If you want to do it yourself, it's very easy, but it is also very cheap to have a shop do it.
