go to your local library, most of them carry chilton and haynes jeep repair manuals.thats where i first got my information at.even if they don't have your exact year, they may have one pretty close.

did you ever solve your blinker problem? My turn signals don't blink. Any ideas on a solution?

have you kids checked your flashers?

Yes, when the flashers are "ON" they are solidly ON -- no blinking. When the turn signals are activated, they are also "ON" solidly -- no flashing.

1--does this mean the flasher unit needs replacing?
2--where is the FLASHER UNIT on a 99 Jeep Cherokee?
3--what does it look like?

Thanks

Usually when a bulb is out the light will stay solid but if both sides are doing it probably has something to do with the flashers, but you might want to check all turn bulbs first.

the 2000 shop manual refers to the flashers as a combintion flasher, the one unit covers both hazard and turn signals. Although it doesn't give the location, it looks rectangular in shape, maybe buy the new flasher unit then you will know what it looks like. Not trying to be funny, hope you get them working.

Thanks 89ltd,

That's just what I was thinking about doing. I called a Jeep (Chrysler) dealer and they said the part was square and cost about $35.00. So tomorrow i am going to go get one. Decided to get one from the Jeep dealer even though an auto store (Schuck's -- local) had a similar one for $15.00.

Thanks again.

Hi 89ltd, I am sidelined with computer work until Monday or Tuesday. I will let you know what happens with the flasher/blinker problem.

I was able to find the 2000 Jeep factory service manual online. I assume you did too. A question: why are all of the #8 pages missing except the wiring diagrams in 8W? At over 1500 pages it doesn't look like those pages are "really" missing -- there are no BLANK or MISSING pages in the 1500. Just wondering.

Thanks again for your help,
George Loyd
