K&N FIPK / hypertech

I got a 97 5.7 and bought a fipk and hypertech programmer and i have to say the fipk was worth the buy. i got good noticible gain in engine performance and the intake sound is worth it alone. sounds like a 4 barrell openin up. no noticible noise until 2,000 then over 2500 it just growls. the hypertech is fine and dandy but not really worth it unless you want to recalibrate for gear changes or larger tires and want your spedo and odometer accurate and shift points back to normal. all i needed from it was the top speed limiter and the power tuning which didn't really give much of a power gain at all. so advice to all that have lifted trucks go for it because its worth but anyone under 31's screw it unless you want to change the speed limiter real bad....dont buy it for the power tunining becuase $270 could be used better else where.

Good to know, i'll get the flowmaster exuast first and worry about the programmer when i can get it cheap. Have the k&n fipk and all i can say is ditto...JJ

I dont know about for newer trucks, but for the 88-95 C/K series, TB Spacers make a pretty noticeable difference.

And Flowmasters will always help! I have the 70 series and love them.

nothin against hypertech, but superchips is the way to go imo. i've had both programmers on my 2000 4.8L and there is a much more noticeable difference with the superchips programmer than with the hypertech, plus the superchips has a DTC reader...neat :)
