:banghead: Last night a light came on. i had no idea what light it was and the car still drove fine so i thought it was fine (the check engine light had a problem so it is always on so i thoght this was just a malfunction). Today i got about a mile down the road when it died. i pulled over and found it had over heated.i looked more and found the water was low, ( so that was the light ) and the fan was unpluged. I wated for it to get down way past cool and filled the water and pluged in the fan. now it sould work but it still overheats. I would understand if there was damage to the heads or somthing and it didnt start, but i fixed the heat problem so it should stay cool. What am i missing

you might of blown the head gasket, warped the the head, cracked the head or cracked the block. before driving it to far i would have it checked out.

i thought of that but why would the temp keep going up, fast. i drove about 500 yards and it got up to the red, so i stopped. the head would make it run bud, not overheat

if the head gasket is blown it will make it overheat really quick check that since its one of the least expensive things to do.
