I have a 1998 honda accord LX and i'm thinking about installing a panasonic CQ-C8200U stereo in it. Exactlly what do I need to complete this install and does anyone know what screws I need to loosen in order to pull off all the dash covers so that i can remove the OEM stereo? ANy other hints would be very helpfull. Thanks.

Buy a Helms manual before you buy anything else for your car!

Where are you getting the stereo from? The prices are OK at crutchfield.com and they give you detailed instructions (and telephone tech support).

I haven't bought it yet but i was thinking of buying it off ebay...its selling for 142 refurb, which i think is a great deal. Where can I buy a helms manual? I have a regular accord manual but that doesn't cover the stereo.

there are 2 screws under the center console dash. And the clock unit can be taken off by gently yanking it out with a screw driver.
Then unplug the clock unit and there's a screw inside the dash, take that screw off and the dash can be taken out. Its easier to unplug AC etc off the dash so you can completly remove the dash out of your way instead of having it hanging and blocking you. Then everything else is easy from there. I believe there are about 4 more screws that are holding the stereo. I recommend magnatic screw driver when you are taking out the brackets that are holding the stereo.
Then you will need to purchase a stereo harness... they aint cheap... I did it without it. If you need a diagram, I'm happy to provide you one. I have written it down what each wires do. But I have 2000 Accord, so I hope they are the same.
