Thermometer not working

I has a '00 v8 it had the Alpine system until i took out the stock head unit and put in a JVC MP3 player and added a 1000watt Pioneer and 2 12' Solo-Barics. But for some reason the temperature always ends up at 62 degrees even if its in the 50's or 90's. I keep my car in the garage so when i barely tune it on and let it warm up the temp reads about 70 a couple minutes after driving it reads 62. Is this a common problem? can some one please help. thanx

Ohh and has anyone had a problem with there remote entry? mine got "deprogrammed" and need to be reset at the dealership for $50!!!! shouldn't this be free because it's a defect or wut not
