everyones opinion please...

i came accross this on E-bay;

Can anyone tell me about what they know this does, and if it works or not... if anyone has any experience with it...anything that anyone knows would be greatly appreciated, many thanks

I have seen these before, and all they are is a noise suppressor put in line to the knock sensor. They don't allow the knock sensor signal to reach the ECM, which keeps it from sensing knock and retarding the timing. you may be able to use it with no problems, but the risk of grenading your engine is not worth the performance gains.

Whats the worst that this thing can do to the engine, if that is the case? also, would this modification cause for cutting and crimping of that cable. Thank You!

The one's I've seen like this is a resistor that fools your car into thinking the air is colder than it really is, so I guess it would make it run a little more rich. Regardless of what they say it does, don't you think GM would have already put one in at the factory if it would gain +25 horsepower if it only would cost a few bucks in extra parts? If it looks and sounds like a scam it probably is a scam.

the worst thing that can happen to an engine that is over advanced is "dentonation". this could cause your piston to crack or it could blow a hole through it, it could cause heads to crack and head gaskets to blow out. dentonation=big headaches+big $$$$!
