Microsoft and Computers, my rage, the anger, the frustration

Why do I have the absolute misfortune to be born into the computer era?
I swear, I'd rather be fighting for the Nazi's and france, than sitting here on this pile of shit, scrap metal with a broken LED.

Oh god how I hate my computer

I have a uni project due in just over one month, and I NEED a movie maker program right, so people here suggested Windows Movie Maker

At first, it was easy, simple to use. But with simplicity, is were the problem lies.

First, I get on today to do more work, and the fucker kept freezing. When I say "kept" I ment a more frequency than bombs being droped in Iraq.
The program had to be forced closed, and just kept freezing, over and over and over and OVER AGAIN
NOW I CAN'T GET INTO IT, AND CLICK WITHOUT THE FUCKER FREEZING ON ME

Me to my mate josh:

Worst invention ever: The Computer, and everything computerised says:
...ok, calm down david...
Worst invention ever: The Computer, and everything computerised says:
i am opening the move maker again, not the actual video sequence file though
Worst invention ever: The Computer, and everything computerised says:
now, I shall 'load' my saved file of the video clip
Worst invention ever: The Computer, and everything computerised says:
load successfull, nothing new there
Worst invention ever: The Computer, and everything computerised says:
now, I have two separate clips from the same clip that I will atempt to "combine"
Worst invention ever: The Computer, and everything computerised says:
I am about to select one, then both
Worst invention ever: The Computer, and everything computerised says:
....ok the program froze when I selected ONE
Worst invention ever: The Computer, and everything computerised says:
oh god this gets worse
Worst invention ever: The Computer, and everything computerised says:
and worse
Worst invention ever: The Computer, and everything computerised says:
and WORSE
Worst invention ever: The Computer, and everything computerised says:
WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON NOW
Worst invention ever: The Computer, and everything computerised says:
GREAT
Worst invention ever: The Computer, and everything computerised says:
I can't open the entire program altogether now
Worst invention ever: The Computer, and everything computerised says:
fuck i hate microsoft

I downloaded "Final Cut Pro", or at least I thought I did, DIDN'T WORK. The entire program REFUSED TO OPEN. I couldn't do shit, the .exe just SAT THERE
So I downloaded "Adobe Premier", SAME FUCKING THING
It just sat there laughing at me.
In total, over 430mb of WORTHLESS JUNK
That could of been quality porn!

BUT NO

So now I have a 900 dollar camera, AND I CAN'T EVEN PUT THE SHIT ON THE COMPUTER WITH OUT THE FUCKING THING FREEZING AND CRASHING ON ME

oh god.
Someone kill me.

The movie maker was working FINE yesturday, now I have this shit. OVERNIGHT

I have emailed microsoft my problem, I doubt they can help me.

If I can't get this fucker to work, I have to forfiet my project.

WHY IS THIS SO FUCKING HARD??!??!!?!!
CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN WHY THIS SHIT HAS TO HAPPEN WHEN I NEED IT THE MOST?!?!?

make sure all your drivers are working right(especially the videocapture), run spybot and adware to remore all the crap running in the background, get an antivirus and make sure the stuff you downloaded doesn't have viruses.

FYI consideing that final cut pro had a windows extension (.exe) it was probably a virus since they make Final cut pro only for mac.

What kind of system are you running?

My family has bought macs for over ten years all the way back to the 120mhz Power PC's to a total of (5) computers between 3 of us. We have been happy with all of them, (except the 120, its just unbearibly slow now)

Sometimes when I browse the web I get an error loading a page and it says "Not win2k compatible". A virus maybe? Spyware? I've found out that there is only 50 known viruses for mac that exhist (and all of them are basicly contained) and about 20,000 for windows. Kind of scary if you think about it.

I know most people have windows, but I'm happy to be the underdog, the minority. I have seen maaany sites trying to download small .exe packages to my computer and everytime I do, I'm just glad I have a mac.

Davo, maybe its time for a Ram upgrade or perhaps a new computer.

Can you not explain the problem to your professor? I'm sure he/she will understand the complications with technology and allow you some more time to work this out.

Take some time to breathe, have some Carlton Draught and calm down. No inanimate object is worth this much stress. Be calm and clear headed and let the peoples of AF and Microsoft help you out.

Windows XP Home
2GHz, 256RAM, 68MB graphics +2gb cache ( I think), 1x400gb HHD, 1x120GB HHD

...I've been wanting more ram and a new grahics card for a few months now as doom3 hardly works.

He needs not know at *this* point. I have till Nov1st for completion. After typing the thread, and posting it, I mentioned my problem with a friend of mine out back of bourke in whoop whoop, and turns out, he HAS adobe premier, so I'm scoring a deal with him.

...mmm....Carlton Draught....*drools* If I had money at the moment, I'd go get me a 6pack. But I'm saving up for car rego due in a month from today (18th october)
I might go up later and get a long neck or something.

Everything seems fine for video editing there.Hell,I made a small 20 minute movie containing clips and pics in my comp, which has considerably less memory than yours (128mb) as well as speed.(1.2g).

You most likely have many programs running in the background that arent needed, maybe even some spyware or virus issues might be present as well. I suggest you do what Neutrino said, get an antivirus, run spybot, etc.

I use, and run spybot, adaware, and AVG Virus Scanner daily.
When I am playing games, doing uni work (such as essays) I normally close all programs related to the internet (such as virus scanner, msn, firewalls etc) and free up, to having over 180mb left of RAM available, which is considerably good as I normally have about 60 when everything is runing.

When I am in movie maker, I tend to have everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) closed, as the movie maker takes up about 43mb of ram to run.
