id seriously look for one thats as bone stock as possible.. that way you dunt have to wonder if the mods were done right and you can do them right yourself... id look for a low milage 97-99 myself but as joe says you can buy a 95-96 and switch the nose and rear over... thats all a looks issue tho.. anyhow gl

Get a 99 for sure if you have the money. Though people may say that the difference is minimum between the 2G years, and are right, they made noticably better interiors in the later years. Everything, from dash color to the material quality, somehow, is better as you approach the 1999 2Gs...saying that because of experience...my 98 was a really nice, black dash interior. my 97 is greyer with a more plasticy feel to it, and my bros 96 is more way off...so yeah, get a 99 IF you can, just because of interior upgrades mitsu made... if your not into all that, just go for any year I guess...a GSX is a GSX :ylsuper:

Just keep an eye out for a good deal it will come your way. I drove over a hunderd miles to get my 98 gsx. Eclipse is hard to come by in MI to, now I could drive a mile down the road and get a mudding truck with huge tiers LOL

Seems like people that "aren't worried about money" and don't know much about DSMs go straight for the 2g's.

If you were rolling in it, i'd still get a 2g. You'll be upgrading to a 1g motor and crying that the 1g's are faster, but I'm not going for shep... just faster than Kevin. :)

haters! buy a 1g nobody thinks theyre fast cuz they look old but they kill more shit then 2gs do especially if you have the money to fix your drivetrain when you break it

if you are into making a track killer get a 95 so you can get an EPROM ECU. you are going to replace everything anyways and the $$ you save over the $$ you spend on a newer model you can spend on mods and go faster sooner.

or get a 99 with low miles, garaged everyday, bone stock, and driven by someone's grandma.

or get a 97-99 spyder and pimp hard like me...
